Starting school is a massive step for every child, which is why we focus on putting your child first at Hymers College. They will be welcomed into a safe and welcoming environment where they can embark on the first stages of their learning adventure.

Our engaging teachers and teaching assistants are proud to be able to offer a rich and varied curriculum, giving your child the opportunity to develop interests at an early age. This includes weekly swimming lessons for Reception to Year 2 pupils and termly swimming sessions for Pre-School, music lessons and outside learning environments such as our on-site forest school.

Facilites

For the first time, Pre-School to Year 2 are joining the main Hymers College campus in Hull from September 2025, bringing all-through education to one campus for the first time in Hymers history!

Facilities include:

  • Beautiful, bright classrooms and a main hall for assemblies, plays and productions, plus when the weather brings PE indoors

  • Dedicated Pre-School

  • Outdoor play area for Pre-School to Year 2

  • Nature area and forest school

  • Swimming pool

  • All-weather pitches and courts (including a top-grade astroturf pitch)

  • Outstanding music facilities with specialist music teachers

Swimming lessons form a part of our core curriculum. As part of Hymers College, our Year 1 and Year 2 children regularly swim at our 25m swimming pool at Hymers College campus.

School timings

Our free before-school care provision runs from 7.50am - 8.30am. The main drop-off window is 8.30am - 8.45am when school then begins. We have a staggered end of the school day by year group from 3pm - 3.30pm. After-school care runs until 5:30pm for all pupils who require it. This is free from Reception.
