Bursar
The Head and Governing Body of Hymers College, a leading independent day school in East Yorkshire, are looking to appoint an outstanding Bursar (Director of Finance & Operations) to lead all business-related aspects of the organisation.
Located on a leafy campus of 45 acres, Hymers is a selective, academic school of 900 pupils. Following the acquisition of its associate pre-prep school in September 2022, Hymers now offers an education of the highest quality to pupils across the full range - from ages 3 to 18.
The School, which is recognised as one of the leading independent schools in the North East for the all-round excellence of the education that it offers, has in recent years received the highest grades possible in ISI Inspections.
The Bursar will manage the financial, operational and commercial affairs of the school, providing strong leadership to a diverse team of support staff.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who currently hold financial / operational responsibility in either state or independent schools. Equally encouraged are applications from candidates with commercial, charitable, private-sector or public-sector backgrounds. The successful candidate will however demonstrate empathy with independent education and a genuine identification with the ethos and values of Hymers.
A critical member of the School’s Senior Leadership team, the Bursar will be joining an ambitious and highly successful organisation as it sets out on the next stage of its development.
The School is being assisted in the recruitment of this key position by ISBA Recruitment from whom an application pack can be obtained by emailing: recruiting@theisba.org.uk.
Alternatively if you have any queries, please contact Lucy Wyatt directly on 07817 038009.
