Year 5 Anglo-Saxon and Viking trip to the Hull and East Riding History Museum

Year 5 had a fantastic time at Hull Museums stepping into the shoes of the Anglo-Saxons and Viking raiders!

In a hands-on and interactive day the children learnt about Anglo-Saxon burials and Viking invasions in the Humber region. They had the opportunity to handle special artefacts that Anglo-Saxons were buried with, wear some realistic replica Viking armour (which was vey big and heavy) and dress up in Anglo-Saxon and Viking outfits!

The day finished with a fun session designing their own Anglo-Saxon-inspired brooches, adorned with jewels.

What a fantastic way to bring history to life.
