Charities of the Year

Over the summer, we received 11 applications from the community for our two chosen charities of the Year.

Our Student Council met recently, with over 30 students in attendance, to review the nominations and vote on our two Charities. All of the applications were presented to the students and they voted on the charities they wished to support this year.

We are pleased to announce that our two chosen charities are Cash for Kids and WISHH (Working Independently Supporting Hull Hospitals). During the course of the year we plan to fund raise with our students in support of these two charities.

It goes without saying that we would love to be able to choose all the worthy charities that took the time to submit an application. However, if your application was unsuccessful, we are never-the-less very grateful for your application and value our ongoing relationship with you.

There are other ways in which Hymers College is involved with serving in the community, and so we hope to keep in touch as these opportunities arise.

Cash for Kids works with Viking FM, to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in our communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs.

WISHH, which stands for Working Independently Supporting Hull Hospitals are involved in raising money locally to help make our hospitals a better place.

We have two upcoming fundraising events on Friday 23 September:

  • Macmillan Bake Sale - Half the funds raised will go to the Macmillan cancer research charity and half will go to our chosen Charities of the Year.

  • Senior School Non Uniform Day - £2 donation
