We provide a safe and nurturing environment as our young children embark on the first stage stages of their learning adventure.

Hymers Hessle Mount offers the best start for children with bright modern classrooms, engaging teachers and teaching assistants, and a rich programme of learning and exploration.

Children can join us from their third birthday into our Pre-School, booking to attend the entire week or just on certain days. From Reception through to Year 2, we have two classes for each year group with maximum class sizes of 20.

At Hymers Hessle Mount we are very proud of our CARE Code and the children learn that care, acceptance, respect and effort are the key values that we want them to follow. These values allow the children to develop good relationships and create a happy and supportive learning environment.

We are proud to be able to offer a rich and varied curriculum for our pupils including swimming lessons for Year 1 and 2, music lessons and outside learning environments.

At the end of Year 2 our pupils transfer, without need for an entrance assessment to Year 3 at our Junior School based at Hymers College.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Hymers Hessle Mount.

Hymers Hessle Mount facilites

Hymers Hessle Mount is set in beautiful, historic grounds surrounded by outdoor space, trees and nature.

Outdoor learning is very important to us. We have a large field at the front of the school which is used for games and sports, including after-school clubs, as well as playtime. We also have a sunken garden, woodland and nature area, trim trail and all-weather surface for various activities.

Inside we have beautiful, bright classrooms and main hall used for assemblies, plays and productions, dining for lunch and when the weather brings PE indoors.

Our Hymers Hessle Mount pupils also get the opportunity to use the facilities at Hymers College, particularly the swimming pool which children travel to regularly for swimming lessons in Year 1 and Year 2. Year 2 also use the Hymers College music facilities when they travel to the campus for swimming. Reception and Year 1 pupils enjoy music lessons on site at Hymers Hessle Mount. Individual music lessons are also available at the school for instruments such as piano, viola and cello.

Our Pre-School is fully integrated with the rest of the school with our youngest children sharing assemblies, playtime, lunch and theme days with the rest of the school. The House system is also a key part of our school life and allows the pupils to mix across the year groups. When a child joins a house at Hymers Hessle Mount they will stay in this house throughout their whole Hymers education through to the completion of Sixth Form.

We also offer a wide variety of lunchtime and after-school clubs at Hymers Hessle Mount including French, football, yoga, drawing, crafting, drama and Lego Club.

Mr Stanley, Headmaster of Hymers College

“We are passionate about learning and believe that school should spark imaginations, be exciting and engage our youngest learners. Hymers Hessle Mount combines all of these things with a rich curriculum and many opportunities to develop interests at an early age.”
