A Message to Year 4

A huge welcome to all the new children in the Junior School. Here are my five top tips that will hopefully help you to settle in quickly and really enjoy your time at Hymers:

1.) This is your first week on the ‘ladder’ of Hymers College. Start as you mean to go on - work hard, play hard and enjoy it. You’ll soon climb that ladder!

2.) All the children here are kind. They remember what it feels like to start a new school! Anyone of them will help you if you are lost or stuck.

3.) Don’t be afraid to ask your teacher if you don’t understand something. Never sit worrying about things - we are here to help!

4.) Be organised. Think ahead! What lessons have I got tomorrow? What do I need?

5.) And lastly - remember this great word: STICKABILITY. It means persevere, never give up. Why not make it your motto?

With best wishes to you all,

Mr Taylor.

P.S - We will be catching up with some of our new students to see how they are settling in to the Junior School - watch this space!
