Hope for Justice Talk

This morning’s lecturer was Joy Liddle from Hope for Justice. Joy spoke of the horrors of modern day slavery which, it is estimated, involves 40.3 million people worldwide and is worth £89 billion a year.
In a very interactive talk the students were challenged to consider not only the scale of the issue but also the human consequences. Joy explained that it is estimated around 136,000 people are currently enslaved in the UK.

Josh Warwick gave an excellent vote of thanks on behalf of the sixth form.
