Christmas at Hymers

We place great value on our links with the local community. Our students undertake an array of activities over the festive period in the hopes of making a significant difference to those who are less fortunate.

From hosting our annual Charity Carol Concert to compiling Christmas parcels for the elderly and those in need, see how we intend to make a difference this Christmas:

Viking FM Christmas Mission Appeal:

Hymers College is extremely proud to be supporting Viking FM’s Christmas Mission Appeal, which aims to bring joy to thousands of sick and disadvantaged children living here in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

Each year we encourage our pupils to get involved by donating new and unwrapped gifts. These will then be sorted by the Viking FM volunteers and distributed to the children most in need this Christmas.

Annual Charity Carol Concert:

Our annual Charity Carol Concert is a huge part of the festivities here at Hymers College.

All proceeds will go to local homeless charity, Emmaus Hull & East Riding, who offer a home and work to homeless people. Guests enjoy a wide range of musical performances from our talented students and also hear from special celebrity guest readers over the course of the evening.

Last year we were absolutely delighted to have raised over £5,000 and we are looking forward to another successful event this year.

Our Charity Carol Concert will be taking place on Thursday 20th December. Tickets are £5 and are available from the general office: carolconcert@hymers.org / 01482 343 555

Food parcels:

This year we will, once again, be collecting food donations as part of our Christmas parcel appeal.

Upon receiving donations, they will be assembled into packages and delivered by our Sixth Formers to vulnerable and elderly residents in the locality.

This is a real highlight of the school calendar. Our students look forward to getting out in the community in an attempt to make a positive impact.
