Michael Crick Lectures at Hymers

Monday, 5 February, 2018

The Channel 4 political correspondent, Michael Crick, spent the day at Hymers last Thursday. He gave a lecture to the Sixth Form in the morning, speaking about his career as a journalist and his fearsome reputation, which has seen him ‘doorstep’ numerous political figures from Tony Blair to Nigel Farage.

In the evening a number of parents and friends of the school came to hear Michael speak more about the current political situation in the country. He covered topics from Brexit to our special relationship with America and from Theresa May’s suitability as a Prime Minister to Jeremy Corbyn’s election promises.

At the end of the evening lecture the Headmaster, David Elstone, thanked Michael for giving the audience a fascinating insight into the Westminster bubble and for taking time out of his busy schedule to be at Hymers for the day.
