Closely linked to the relevant school departments, school clubs also provide additional time for students to pursue their interests. Hymers has enjoyed great success over the years from its teams and individuals at county, regional and national levels. There is not room here to list all the achievements of our talented children, but below is a small selection of the many who have made us proud in recent years:

School Clubs
Rugby:
Adam Greendale was Captain of the England 16 Group Rugby Team, the first Hymers student to be awarded captaincy of a national rugby team, and has since been awarded his first England U19 Rugby Cap.

Tennis:
Verity Roach and Nina Hearnshaw won the Under 15 Independent Schools' Tennis Association Championships for 2006

Fencing:
Rebecca Hopkins has represented Great Britain in international tournaments and came 5th in the U14 Sabre in the British Youth Championships.  In the Public Schools Championships, several of our fencers came in the top 12 of their respective sections.

School ClubsHockey:
The U16s won the North Indoor Hockey Championship and came 2nd in the North Outdoor Hockey Championships.

Netball:
Hymers teams won 7 of the local schools competitions, and the 1st VII became County Champions.

Music:
Andrew Booth, Tom Innes and Andrew Bartlett sang with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain in the Albert Hall.  They then joined more of our students in the National Training Choir for a celebratory concert in the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.  This year they also had a memorable tour of Europe, singing in Bratislava, Berlin, Prague, Vienna and in J S Bach’s Thomaskirche in Leipzig.r.

We have numerous students who have places in national youth choirs and orchestras and several ex-students who have gone on to be professional musicians.
